On Eagles Wings Leadership Training

  • Classes 2003-2009

    • Over 30 African American adults with developmental disabilities and African American parents who have African American children with disabilities graduated from On Eagles Wings

    • All graduates report an increase in their  Independence, Productivity, Self Determination, Integration & Inclusion

    • All graduates report that they were treated with respect, learned new skills that made their lives better

  • Class 2009-2010

    • On Eagles Wings Leadership Training ended 11.14.09

    • We had a total of 15 graduates, 300% above our contract from our thirty hour leadership training program.

    • All graduates report an increase in their Independence, Productivity, Self Determination, Integration & Inclusion

    • All graduates report that they were treated with respect, learned new skills that made their lives better


    Pathways MN Youth Center

  • 2003-2007 [Three Year Grant]

    • Pathways MN Youth Center met or surpassed all goals and objectives

    • Pathways Advisory Committee

      • Reviewed all timelines, products and outcomes of the project

      • Developed activities such as 'Get out the Vote' and other activities

    • Pathways African American Leadership Training

      •  30 African American youth and emerging leaders with developmental disabilities graduated from our thirty hour leadership training program

    • We developed Pathways Center youth friendly material

      •  'How to Seek and maintain employment'

      • 'Futures Planning'

      • Leadership training materials

      • Dissemination materials

    • Dissemination of Center products

      •  Three ring binders on 'How to Access the General Education Curriculum and Graduate with a standard diploma' to parents of youth with developmental disabilities and their service providers

      • We disseminated Center materials at national, state and local level

  • 2007-2009 [We have one more year of funding through 9.30.10]

    • IPSII Inc. was awarded an additional three years.  The Pathways Advisory Committee changed the outreach from only African American to all youth and emerging leaders with developmental disabilities ages 13-30 yrs.
