         Partners in Policymaking ®  was created in Minnesota by the Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities in  1987. Partners is an innovative, competency based leadership training program for adults with developmental disabilities and parents of young children with disabilities.

OUR MISSION    Independence, Productivity, Self Determination, Integration &Inclusion (IPSII)  for People with Disabilities and Their Families.    Our Board of Directors is a mix of individuals who are passionate about creating change within our community, creating welcoming schools, neighborhoods and workplaces for individuals with disabilities.  Each board member serves a three year term. Our Board Members are Parents of children and young adults with disabilities Individuals with disabilities Service providers to people with disabilities and their families Several of our Board Members are graduates of the Partners in Policymaking  program     OUR NON-PROFIT   Is a 501 (C) (3) tax exempt organization, comprised of people with disabilities and their families. We are customer driven to ensure cultural competency and best practice. We achieve our mission through our leadership trainings, analysis of public policy, and outreach to traditionally underserved communities. All of our materials are free of charge All of our trainings are free of charge We provide reimbursement for child care and mileage     WE BELIEVE                         Each person a unique individual, a citizen, having leadership potential no matter their challenges in life; All communities depend on the capacity of people, on their fullness, on their possibility.
